Overview

The Daily Abide is a Christian daily-life and spiritual-growth app that helps users build consistent faith-centered habits. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used and stored, and the choices you have, including the optional Google Calendar integration.

Account information

To use the app, you create an account. We collect basic account information, including your name and email address. This information is needed to create and identify your account, secure access to your content, and contact you about your account when necessary (for example, account-related emails).

Personal information you enter

The core of the app is content you create yourself. Depending on which features you use, you may enter and store: prayer requests, gratitude entries, sermon notes, goals, priorities, daily schedule entries, water intake logs, menu plans, and budget entries. This content is stored in the app's database and is used solely to power the app's features for you.

Optional Google Calendar integration

The app offers an optional connection to Google Calendar. Connecting your Google account is entirely your choice and is never required to use any other part of the app.

What Google data is accessed and why

When you connect your account, the app requests permission to manage your Google Calendar (the Calendar scope, including offline access so syncing can continue between sessions). This permission is used solely for one purpose: to create calendar events on your Google Calendar from the schedule entries you create in the app. The app does not read, display, or repurpose your existing calendar events beyond what is needed to carry out the sync actions you initiate.

How Google tokens are stored and protected

To maintain the connection, the app stores the Google access and refresh tokens on its servers, associated with your account. These tokens are stored server-side rather than in your browser and are used only by the app's server-side integration to perform the calendar actions you initiate. They are not exposed in the app's interface. The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements: your Google Calendar data is not sold, not shared for advertising purposes, and not used to inform targeted advertising.

How to disconnect

You can disconnect your Google account at any time using the disconnect control on the app's Schedule page. Disconnecting revokes the app's access at Google and deletes the stored tokens from the app's servers. After that, no calendar syncing occurs until you choose to connect again.

You can also review or remove the app's access directly in your Google Account security settings.

How your data is shared

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your content or your Google Calendar data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

The app runs on third-party platform and infrastructure services that act as service providers, processing data on our behalf to host, store, secure, and operate the app. These providers process data only as needed to provide the service. The Google Calendar integration itself is limited to interactions with Google's APIs on your behalf, as described above.

We may also disclose information where required by law or legal process, and where reasonably necessary to protect the rights, safety, or security of users or the service.

Data access by the app operator

As part of operating, maintaining, and supporting the service, authorized administration personnel may access stored data, including your account information and the content you enter, when necessary to operate the app, provide support you request, investigate issues, or comply with law. Your data is not treated as publicly available, but it is not guaranteed to be inaccessible to the service operator.

Data retention, deletion, and your controls

Your content is retained while your account is active so the app's features continue to work for you. You have the following controls:

Because retention practices vary by record type and system, we do not promise a specific universal deletion timeline; we handle deletion requests consistent with applicable law and our legitimate operational needs.

Security

The app uses the security measures of its hosting platform, including authenticated access to accounts and server-side storage for Google Calendar tokens. No service can guarantee perfect security, and you should choose a strong password and keep your credentials confidential. We do not make specific claims about encryption practices beyond what our providers implement.

Children's privacy

The app is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13; if we learn that we have, we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time as the service evolves. We will update the "Last updated" date above when we do, and significant changes will be communicated within the app. Continued use of the app after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.

If you have questions about this privacy policy or want to request account or data deletion, contact the app operator at info@thedailyabide.com.
